I love maps - as a child, they seemed magical in their suggestions of what was out there in the world. I still love them - new ones bought for a trip, old ones found at estate sales, and even (although to a lesser extent than good old paper maps), Google Maps and Google Earth. There is always something mysterious to notice - some place identified but not explained, some spot that calls to me.
